DBX2PAD was written to ease the migration of Imported Gerbers back to an intelligent P-CAD Database.
When Gerbers are Imported into P-CAD, the Pads are placed on individual 'non-signal' layers with no PadStack or DrillHole intelligence.
Running DBX2PAD re-integrates the Pads and Drill Holes into intelligent PadStacks, moving them to Signal or Plane layers, making the transition to creating intelligent Patterns much easier.
DBX2PAD has several Options that can be used when creating the Intelligent PadStyles.
'Use GlobalSwell' is one of them, which uses the 'GlobalSwell' as defined by the user in P-CAD.
'Eliminate Pads' is the other option, and it will automatically delete the Pads on the Gerber Layers, after the new PadStyles have been generated.
DBX2PAD is a 32-bit program that runs in a Windows 95/98/2000/NT/XP(etc) environment, and has been updated to work with P-CAD 2004 (SP3) - Version 18.
DBX2PAD uses the P-CAD DataBase eXchange (DBX) Interface to extract and transfer the information, and therefore requires P-CAD 2004 to be running, as well as the P-CAD DBX Development files to be installed from the P-CAD 2004 (SP3) CD.
