DBX2XY-Screen Shot

This document contains information pertaining to the latest version of the DBX2XY (Move XY) program.

1.0 Introduction

1.1 Overview

The Move XY application allows the designer to Move Patterns in PCB by using the ACCEL EDA DBX (Database Exchange).

1.2 Installation

Run Setup.exe.
This will install the application (DBX2XY) and all of its' necessary support files to the indicated sub-directory.

The program will be added to the Programs List Bar. It can also be added to the list of programs accessible for running by going to Start - Taskbar - Start Menu Program - Add, locating the DBX2XY program in the \ACCEL\UTILS subdirectory and follow the steps through to completion.

2.0 Usage

DBX2XY requires the following items:

1. Microsoft Windows 95, 98, 2000 or Windows NT Operating System.
2. P-CAD 2001 (Version 16.0).
3. An open design with at least one placed pattern.

When DBX2XY is first run, it will open to the center of the screen. You will then be able to move it to a desired location from which you want it to run.

It is recommended that this main menu be moved to the bottom edge of the viewing window. This will require the user to shorten the height of the PCB window slightly, to allow the DBX2XY menu to reside below it.

It is also recommended that the user add the DBX2XY to the PCB 'Utils/Customize...' Buttons, to allow the DBX2XY Utility to be invoked at the press of a button.

A brief description of the options follows:

Options:
PR :

DBX2XY-Options

Moves X and Y Relative to Pattern. I.E. If X = 100.0, it will move the selected Pattern 100.0 mils from its' current location in the X direction.

DR :

Moves X and Y Relative to Design. If no Relative is set, it then defaults to an Absolute Design X,Y.

Units:
Mil :

DBX2XY-Options

Coordinates entered in Mils.

MM :

Coordinates entered in Mms.

Coordinates :

X :

DBX2XY-Options

This allows the designer to enter an X offset for moving the Pattern.

Y :

This allows the designer to enter a Y offset for moving the Pattern.

The program defaults to Mils and PR. After the program has been run, however, the defaults will be saved and, if changed, will reflect the new values as the current default.

Once the options have been selected, clicking on the 'RUN' button executes the program.

Several messages may be displayed while the program is processing the pattern selected. This gives one an idea of what the progress of the program is.

To stop and exit the program, select the 'EXIT' button.

DBX2XY is a 32-bit program that runs in a Windows 95 environment, and has been updated to work with the latest P-CAD 2001 Program.

DBX2XY uses the ACCEL DataBase eXchange (DBX) Interface to extract the information, and therefore requires P-CAD 2001 to be running, as well as the ACCEL DBX Development files to be installed from the P-CAD 2001 CD.

DBX2XY is available for $50.00 (plus shipping and handling).

DBX2XY can be ordered by credit card via PayPal by selecting the following link...
