When designing a PCB, it is often desirable to add TestPoints for ICT probing. There are various ways to do this, but the most economical is to place TestPoints on the Bottom Side of the PCB, allowing for the 'pogo-pins' to make contact with pads on the PCB. This allows for testing the completed Printed Circuit Assembly while powered.
DBX2NNR is a program that aids the PCB Designer by scanning the PCB Design, and creating a list of Nets that need Bottom-Side TestPoints, or bottom and top side Testpoints - for Clam-Shell Testing. DBX2NNR also goes one step further and generates an ECO with Testpoints in it for placement in the PCB Design. This allows the Designer to add TestPoints quickly to Nets that need probe points on the Bottom (or Top) Side of the PCB.
DBX2NNR can save a designer many hours of tedious manual labor, since it is a computer program and can complete the task much quicker.
DBX2NNR is a 32-bit program that runs in a Windows 95/98/XP environment, and works with the latest Version of P-CAD.
DBX2NNR uses the ACCEL DataBase eXchange (DBX) Interface to communicate with the application, and therefore requires P-CAD 200x PCB to be running, as well as the ACCEL DBX Development files to be installed from the ACCEL EDA CD.
The example file shown below, is the result of running DBX2NNR.
