Today, everything is leaning towards portability on the Internet. One of the Standards being promoted for this portability is XML. In an effort to promote and support this direction, Oztronics is pleased to present one program that can be used on all Versions of ACCEL ASCII to create an XML file.
This XML file can then be read into other programs such as XML Spy, EditML, Microsoft XML NotePad, etc.
The user will also be able to create other translators based upon this XML file.
Such as...
1) A P-CAD Version 16, to P-CAD Version 15 Database Translator (or any other previous version).
2) the core for a P-CAD to GenCAM translator.
3) P-CAD to EDIF
...the possibilities are only limited by ones' imagination.
ASCII2XML can be run, and all types of ACCEL ASCII databases can be used for Input.
ACCEL ASCII PCB databases (*.PCB)
ACCEL ASCII Schematic databases (*.SCH)
ACCEL ASCII Library databases (*.LIA)
ACCEL ASCII Netlists (*.NET)
While the resulting XML file is much larger than the original ACCEL ASCII file, in many cases it will Zip to a very small and manageable file size for transmission across the Internet.
As an example, a sample ACCEL ASCII Schematic had a file size of 830k which, when zipped, was only 80k in size - or 9.6% its' original size.
The XML version of this file was 3.33Megs in size which, when zipped was only 119k in size - or 3.6% its' original size. It was also only 40k larger than the ACCEL ASCII version when zipped.
The following is a screenshot of the resulting XML file as viewed in EditML, a freely available utility available on the Internet.

ASCII2XML is available for $100.00 (plus shipping and handling).
