Whenever it is necessary to extract net information for specific components in a design and their individual leads, the designer can now use DBX2PIN.
There are many uses for a PinList Extraction Utility. One of these allows the designer to extract the PinList for custom Programmable Locic Devices (PLDs) and then hand this list to engineering so that they can program the PLDs with their I/O matching the PinList.
DBX2PIN will extract PinList data for as few as one component to as many as all of the components in the design.
DBX2PIN is a 32-bit program that runs in a Windows 95/98/XP environment, and has been updated to work with P-CAD 2002.
DBX2PIN uses the ACCEL DataBase eXchange (DBX) Interface to extract the information, and therefore requires the latest version of P-CAD to be running, as well as the ACCEL DBX Development files to be installed from the P-CAD CD.
There are several user selectable options which give the program flexibility, such as the ability to include or exclude the Header Information in the output file. Another option allows the designer to select the name to use on pins that are not connected in the design. The default is '------'.
The example file shown below, is the result of running DBX2PIN.
